Office 365 A1 Plus for education will retire on August 1, 2024

Microsoft will retire the Office 365 A1 Plus program, an Office subscription that includes Office desktop apps for qualified schools that purchased Office institution-wide for faculty and staff.

Previously any school who purchased an Open Value Subscription Education Solutions (OVS-ES) annual volume license agreement would get the Office 365 A1 Plus license added to their Microsoft 365 Tenancy.

 

Why is Office 365 A1 Plus being retired by Microsoft?

To ensure schools have compliant licensing plans, and to support the transition to cloud licenses Microsoft 365 A3 and Microsoft 365 A5.

 

Does your school use Office 365 A1 Plus licenses?

Schools with an S&I contract with NYES Digital will have their licences checked by our support team who will be in touch if any further action is required.
